Instructor Qualifications

Training the Trainers of Tomorrow

getimage (2).webp

As a club, We rely solely on volunteers to keep us alive and running. Our greatest assets are our instructor team who without, we simply couldn't operate.

Often our senior lifesavers progress onto instructing on poolside and in order to support them we ensure they get access to the relevant instructor courses based on their age and ability either in house or externally with the wider RLSSUK community.

We will always welcome and actively encourage parents to come on poolside to assist and woudl support you in achieving your instructor qualification. No prior lifesaving knowledge is required as a crash course can be provided for you.  We can offer the following Instructor qualifications in house:

- Lifesaving Instructor assistant  (12+)

- Rookie Lifeguard Instructor (16+)

- Lifesaving instructor (17*) *Assessment only once candidate is 18+

- Community Instructor (18+)

Further information for becoming an instructor can be sought from the Head Trainer Andrew Uncles or Lifesaving Instructor Tutor James Rowberry.
